We’ve known for sometime that DICE’s Battlefield 3 will ship one two dics; one being single player and the second dedicated to multiplayer. Speaking to GamerZines, Patrick Liu said “There’s a voluntary install on the 360.” We’ll have to wait and see how much of a difference these higher-quality textures make when the game ships on 28th October for PS3, PC and Xbox 360.
We’re not aware if the PlayStation 3 will have a similar optional install, but you can check out the new screenshots for now.
UPDATE: Seems IGN has reached out to EA and they’ve confirmed that the PS3 will have the same install pack: ”The PS3 version requires the same install but it’s all on the one blu-ray disk,” a spokesperson for the company confirmed.
